Marks and Spencer allows returns within 28 days of purchase for most items. You can return online orders in store, by mail, or via carrier drop-off, with free return shipping available through Evri or Royal Mail.
How returns work
You have several return options. You can return items to Marks and Spencer Fashion, Home, and Beauty stores (not railway, hospital, or service station locations). Alternatively, you can return by mail with free shipping through Evri or Royal Mail, or drop off your package at an Evri Parcelshop or Post Office. For furniture, home collection pickup is available. To start a return, go to Orders and returns in your account, check your remaining time, provide your reason, select your method, and generate your return barcode.
Exclusions and restrictions
Marks and Spencer does not accept returns on numerous items including face coverings, earrings, flowers, food items, gift cards, wine, personalised or made-to-measure items, and non-branded toys, luggage, and kitchen electrical goods. Beauty products, toiletries, duvets, pillows, mattress protectors, and swimwear cannot be returned if their seals are broken. School uniform has a 100-day return window (for purchases between 25 June and 15 August 2026) but excludes footwear, underwear, tights, and accessories. Sale items allow 14 days to notify of return intent, followed by a further 14 days to complete the return. Fine jewellery, wedding and bridesmaid dresses, adult fancy dress, and maternity items can only be returned by post in original outer packaging within 28 days.
Refunds
Refunds are issued to your original payment method (credit or debit card). Alternatively, Marks and Spencer may issue an e-gift card as a goodwill option. You can track your return through your M&S account and expect your refund to appear there.
