Theory allows you to return most items within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange. Returns must be initiated online, and you will need your receipt. Items marked as final sale or discounted 40% or more cannot be returned.

How returns work

To return an item, initiate the return online at Theory.com and include the return packing slip in your box, keeping one order per box. You can then drop off your package at the nearest UPS location or schedule a UPS pickup.

Exclusions and restrictions

Final sale items, merchandise discounted 40% or more, swimwear, intimates, jewelry, special orders, gift cards, and items from other retailers cannot be returned to Theory.com. Items marked final sale may only be exchanged for a different size in the same style and color.

Refunds

Refunds are processed within 5 to 7 business days of receipt and appear on your account within 3 to 5 business days. Money is returned to your original form of payment, except for gifts, which receive an e-gift card instead. If you return an item after 14 days of delivery, a $9.95 restocking fee applies.

Gift purchases are refunded as an e-gift card rather than your original payment method. You have 60 days to return or exchange a gift.
